Run without music
In warm weather, I typically start my day with an early morning run along a quiet path. Every now and then I leave the iPod at home to savor the silence. My run becomes almost meditative; for nearly an hour my mind gets a break. I run to the sound of my breath and adhere to the rhythm of my feet. My thoughts get lost in the panting; I hear only my body at work. If you've never run without music, give it a try next time. You'll be amazed at what a different experience you'll have. Spoiler alert...it's definitely harder!
