Rise above what's bringing you down

Circumstance is often a catalyst for discovering our inner strength. No one truly knows how strong they are until summoned to learn.

If you are living your life, chances are you’ve already put yours to the test. Every day we are faced with some form of adversity from ordinary bumps like losing a job, divorce, feeling alone, and heartbreak to the severity of battling disease, poverty or sheer survival.

But, fortitude can also be found in life’s greatest moments, like becoming a parent. The love of a child is instinctive. It possesses us without consent. Never in a moment have I experienced both complete vulnerability and absolute strength than when I held my first child for the first time. The mere sight of her weakened my heart to its core. The desire to become everything she needed forced my inner heroism to surface. In that moment I knew I had to be strong enough to guide, teach, protect and love her. By accepting my weakness for my daughter, I discovered the power in me.

Now, a mother of two, I am able to push beyond the limits I once set for myself. I am confident in my decisions. I have the courage to acknowledge my mistakes and learn from them. I accept the woman in front of me and believe in myself because... my children deserves that of me. If not only for myself, but for them, when life bring me down I will find my way back up... I'm a riser!
