5 strategies to get you through holiday stress

I absolutely love the holidays! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year for me and my family. But, I can see how it has potential to become the most stressful time of year. 

I think we start out with good intentions, as we all get super excited for the holiday season. Before we know it, there are more obligations, bigger lists of things to do, endless baking, hours of cooking, holiday cards, hosting, numerous events to attend, and the expectation to do it all with a holly jolly attitude.   

No doubt our enthusiasm can turn to stress if we aren't careful. Here are five strategies to help you make this time of the year, the most wonderful time of year.

1. Acknowledge your feelings.

2. Say NO to things.

3. Don't neglect healthy habits like going to the gym or preparing meals. 

4. Create a holiday budget and stick to it. 

5. Put things in perspective - remember what the holidays are really about!

What are the holidays really about? Family, friends, joy, love, celebration, giving, sharing, kindness. It's the time of year when we all try to be a little nicer, a little friendlier, less selfish and a whole lot happier.
